As a law
student, she worked as an apprentice attorney with the
Misdemeanor Defender's Office. She graduated with a
Juris Doctorate Degree in 1998. She was admitted to the
State Bar of Michigan in November 1998. She began
working at the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office as an
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and held that position until
December 2002.
In January 2003, she joined the law firm of
Clark Hill, PLC as an Associate and remained there until
August 2003.
In January 2004, she returned to public
service as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Trial
Division at the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. She
held that position until March 2005.
Judge
Archer is a member of the following organizations: State Bar of Michigan,
American Bar Association, National Bar Association, Wolverine Bar Association,
Association of Black Judges of Michigan, Michigan District Court Judges
Association, American Judges Association and the Detroit Metropolitan Bar
Association.
Among her community involvement, Judge
Archer has served as
an advisor to the Co-Ette Club, Inc. and as a volunteer
for the Pioneers for Success Program. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc. as well as the NAACP. Judge Archer is committed to helping young
people reach their highest potential.
