House Counsel Services coordinates the assignment of attorneys in order to provide effective assistance of counsel to indigent defendants.
House Counsel Services operates in accordance with and as outlined in Local Administrative Order 2016-02, Plan for Appointment of Counsel in the Thirty-Sixth District Court.
Defendants – To request a court appointed attorney, you may complete and submit Form MC 222 Request for
Court-Appointed Attorney and Order at your court appearance.
Attorneys – To request to be placed on the House Counsel Eligibility List, you may complete the application on line or in person in Room 418A. A member of House Counsel Services will contact you regarding the additional requirements necessary to fulfill the eligibility conditions.
