Chief Judge William C. McConico presides over the Court and oversees 28 judges and 6 magistrates. Court Administrator LaWanda Crosby provides daily oversight for the non-judicial functions of the Court and approximately 300 staff.
The 36th District Court is dedicated to administering justice in an equitable, impartial, and timely manner in accordance with the rule of law.
The 36th District Court is the largest district court in the state of Michigan and one of the busiest courts in the United States. More people have contact with the district court than any other court. For this reason, it is often referred to as the "People's Court".

Phone Pay/Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) ​

The 36th District Court, along with DivDat,  is pleased to announce the offering of a new payment option with Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR), also known as “phone pay.”   In an effort to continue to serve the public as efficiently and safely as possible during the pandemic, the Court has chosen to adopt an additional payment solution for paying costs, fees and fines.

To make a payment using Phone Pay/IVR, call 1-855-798-1547.  Payments can be made 24-hours a day in English and in Spanish.

You can also pay at any DivDat kiosk, or by using the DivDat mobile pay app. Online payments are also available at www.36thdistrictcourt.org
